Job description
The iPhone Engineering Group is looking for a Camera Engineering Project Manager (EPM) to drive the design, development and integration of camera modules across iPhone. The EPM is the interface between our internal engineering teams and the suppliers of sensors, lenses and camera modules. This is an exiting position demanding a strong technical background including camera optics, sensors, actuators, manufacturing and quality control.
In this highly cross functional role the EPM will work closely together with the HW, SW and mechanical engineering team to coordinate all aspects of the camera module design, production and integration.
The Camera EPM manages module vendors during development and production to ensure the quality of the build and implementation of test procedures in compliance with Apple’s requirements. The EPM will drive the analysis of test result and implementation of corrective actions.
EPMs are structured and methodical organizers with the ability to drive a cross functional team and external suppliers. A successful candidate will help set strategy, execute on schedule, and be responsible for managing/communicating status and issues.
Skills and Experience requirements
• BS degree ME/EE required
• 5 years of industry experience
• 2 years of project management experience
• Experience with vendor management, camera module vendors preferred
• Good experience with camera module production and test processes
• Solid understanding of lens technologies and performance characteristics
• Familiar with CMOS sensors and SOCs
• Ability to travel internationally to support builds at camera and system manufactures
